Fresh off of recent single ‘Medium’, which met praise for its mesmerising soundscape, ‘Burnt’ continues a rich vein of form for FRACTURES. In another departure from his folk roots, ‘Burnt’ is an atmospheric and melodic house anthem with soul-bearing ethereal vocals. The single, mixed by Cassian, is an intimate glimpse into FRACTURES’ internal world, after what has been a transformative few years of experimentation and growth. “Help me find the pieces / tell me I’ll be fine”, he sings in a delicate falsetto chorus over soaring synths.
The single is accompanied by a music video which frames the artist against a dazzling city skyline, intercut with a young protagonist who follows a light that leads him to a rave; symbolic of FRACTURES’ sanctuary in the music he crafts.
FRACTURES is the moniker of Melbournian singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Mark Zito. His full discography has seen incredible support from the likes of triple j, The Guardian and The Fader. After amassing over 40 million streams globally, FRACTURES has been hibernating – perfecting his craft and the next phase of his already celebrated career. The introspective process of the uncertainty within the world was a catalyst for the lyrical content, metaphorically presented through cinematic imagery of environment. As the world opened up, FRACTURESembarked on a songwriting trip in the UK in 2022, and with more travel planned for 2023, his sound has been and will continue to be heavily influenced by the dance music scene in Europe and the UK. Collaboratively he has thrown himself in the deep end, working with various artists including Anjunadeep, one of Europe’s most famed electronic music labels and The Chainsmokers. The fast-rising talent is also signed to Fader Label, alongside the likes of Clairo.
Continuing his hot streak, ‘Burnt’ is another jewel in FRACTURES’ increasingly hyped album campaign.
